In this course participants will learn the fundamentals of stone setting in jewelry. The focus will be on creating a simple bezel setting and mounting a cabochon stone into a handmade silver piece. This course introduces a new level of jewelry construction while remaining accessible to learners.

Participants will learn how bezel settings are constructed,design the setting base depends on the shape of the stone, how to solder settings to a base, and how to securely set a cabochon stone. The course also covers finishing techniques for professional-looking jewelry.

Each participant will complete a silver jewelry piece with a set stone, such as a ring or pendant.

After attending this course participants can apply to be a memeber in the jewelry workshop.

The course will be hold in English.

OM KURSLEDAREN:

Shiyao Sun is a jewelry and craft artist. She studied at HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg, and Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Florence, focusing on jewelry and body-related practices. She has over ten years of jewelry making and is experienced in silversmithing and material experiment.
