This beginner-friendly course introduces the fundamental techniques of silversmithing. Participants will learn how to transform a piece of silver into a wearable ring while gaining an understanding of the basic tools and processes used in jewelry making. No previous experience is required.

Participants will learn the essential techniques used in silversmithing, including sawing, filing, forming metal, soldering, sanding, and polishing. The course also introduces the basic workflow of jewelry making and how to safely use common silversmithing tools.

Each participant will complete and bring home one handmade silver ring created during the course.

The course will be hold in English.

OM KURSLEDAREN:

Shiyao Sun is a jewelry and craft artist. She studied at HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg, and Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Florence, focusing on jewelry and body-related practices. She has over ten years of jewelry making and is experienced in silversmithing and material experiment.
